For over 30 years, Ker and Downey has been offering safaris in Botswana and today the company has expanded its operation to include other African destinations. Over the years and with the expansion, one thing has not changed: the company’s dedication to environmentally sensitive tourism.
For years Ker and Downey has worked closely with local and national governments to insure the safety and conservation of the indigenous cultures and local resources. By providing their guests with personal encounters with nature, fostering an understanding of fragile ecosystems, and of the relationships between man and animal, the company’s mission is to inspire the traveler to help preserve the area and spread the word about conservation. By educating staff and guests, as well as the international community, Ker and Downey’s goals include insuring that the land and animals can "pay for themselves" thus reducing the risk that short term economic concerns will outweigh the long-range benefits of conserving the lands for future generations.
