Midas Battlefield Tours

Boy, talk about history overload! Midas Battlefield Tours offers nearly 50 separate tours ranging from the Punic Wars to nearly every European war over the past 2,000 years.

Trips based on their customers’ interests feature heavily in their choice of itineraries and the variety is far greater than the other companies I’ve reviewed. WWII trips include areas you rarely see with other companies: North Africa, the Italian south, Germany, Poland, Crete and Spanish Civil War sites. Russia is heavily featured in the 2003 season with eight separate itineraries.

Another group of trips focuses on 19th century battles around the globe. The Napoleonic Wars are well represented with 10 separate journeys; the American Civil war and Gen. George Custer’s failed expedition against the Sioux are included; and the British Empire’s battles in South Africa’s Zulu and Boer wars, as well as the Indian Mutiny, round out a truly exceptional selection of journeys to the sites of 19th-century military campaigns.

Midas also offers custom tours for groups based on individual needs. From the looks of the trips currently on its calendar for the 2003 season, Midas can handle just about any request.
