Patrizia and Paolo
welcome you to their home Il
Poggione, an ancient country house in Tuscany situated on a hill
surrounded by grapes, olive trees and cypresses.
Patrizia’s cooking classes use fresh
ingredients from the family’s own organic gardens, and her weekly
classes focus on Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine using only the
season’s freshest products. In spring, the focus is on fresh vegetables and wild greens. Fall features truffles and “Olive Oil: The Tuscan Gold,” Tasty Tuscany’s salute to the region’s favorite fruit. If you’ve never had the pleasure of being in Tuscany in November and experiencing the pride with which the pressing of olives is shared and enjoyed, you are in for a delightful treat. All classes include excursions in the countryside and nearby cities. Experience the art, wines, architecture and archeological wonders that make Tuscany such a delight. Even if you’re not interested in the cooking classes, there are hiking and craft excursions available, and guests may stay at Il Poggione on a room-and-board basis only. Immerse yourself in the warmth and beauty of the Tuscan countryside and make new friends at the same time. Patrizia, Paola, the dogs, cats and chickens all welcome you to their home. By Sheri Leigh |
